Description |
A song based on the testimony of the Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 9 where he gave all for the gospel's sake. He gave his wealth, and even his health. He said that he became weak in order to help the weak. And the help that he offered to the weak was the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul suffered the loss of all things for the gospel's sake, but it was not a foolish decision. The gospel is a message that will save souls and allow them to enter into eternity. If the loss of some temporal things would allow others to gain eternity's bliss, Paul was willing to suffer that loss.
And Paul is not alone in his feelings. All around the world, there are believers who are willing to endure hardships and loss for the gospel's sake. Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." This is true love for God, for Christ, and for our neighbors. |
