Matthias Knopp

Biography

Matthias Knopp has served the Lord in the music ministry for over 15 years.  Beginning at a young age, he began playing offertories and singing in the choir and in special groups.  This early education served as a basis for later service in the body of Christ.  The desire to serve others through music became less of a duty and more of a delight!

In 2000, Matthias began his college education at The Crown College of the Bible in Knoxville, TN.  Here, under the instruction of Dr. Earl Holloway, he studied in the Crown College choir.  Dr. Holloway was a wonderful influence in the lives of many young people.  He taught the students not only to sing and lead with excellence, but to do it with joy.  Matthias also continued his piano education throughout his college years.

In 2003, he and his wife moved to Akron, Ohio and began serving the Lord at the Stow Falls Baptist Church.  This relatively young church offered many opportunities for service.  These included, but were not limited to playing piano for congregational, choir, and special music; singing in the choir, as well as special groups; conducting congregational singing, and conducting the Stow Falls Teen Choir, who had the opportunity to minster in many churches throughout Ohio, and several states.

In 2009, Matthias Knopp became the director of music at the Stow Falls Baptist Church.  The Lord began to burden his heart to write music that resonated with scriptural language.  His desire was to create songs that would be instantly identified with the words of scripture.  In early 2010, he wrote his first song, "Abiding Fruit".  Since that time, he has written over a dozen songs and choruses and set music to a number of Scripture verses.
